  1. my daughter is 4 and has been in speech since she was 18 months. i know how hard it can be when you have to do all this stuff on your own. at her age, its now the school systems job to help. call the school district or the primary (elementary) school in your area and they should be able to point you in the right direction.

    good luck

  2. try starting with your local health dept. or wic clinic. the public health nurses will evaluate your child & point you in the right direction. Also try your community resources office.

  3. How old is the child?  Most toddlers do not speak plan or proper.  Is the child in school?  If so, the school should offer speech therapy, if it is needed.  If they are not school age, consult his/her doctor for a referral.

  4. If she is almost 4, contact your local school district.  Most, if not all, school districts do "early intervention" programs, starting at about age 3.

If no luck from there, contact your local health department.  They should point you in the right direction.

I am surprised that your doctor isn't giving you more information to find help.  They have contacts with early intervention programs.
