Question:

I need to find a way to put my Jet Skis in the Ocean without a boat ramp

I live on the ocean and I have to drive 45 minutes to a port with a boat ramp! That is a waste of time and money.

I'm looking for a way to dock my Jet Skis on the beach with no boat ramp...but I cannot simply back my truck up with the jet skis on the trailer because the truck will get stuck in the sand.

Any suggestions?

  1. Make a sled so you can tow it yourself with a rope on the sand. If you go to Home Depot or Lowe`s you can buy teflon strips, or get something smooth to line the bottom of the skids, so it will tow much easier with less effort. You will also need to fabricate a ramp from your truck to the ground below, perferably one that can tilt when needed. Line the ramp with carpet material so the teflon or smooth surface sled will move easily.

If you make one and it works fine, you could mass produce them and get rich with my idea, Good Luck!

  2. can you get close and wait for the tides?

  3. Two suggestions. One "bag" your tires on your truck (ie. take the air pressure down to about 15lbs) if you have 4WD this should make your truck run better on the beach.

Two get a mechanical wench attached to your truck. Walk the trailer down to the water, put the Jet Ski on and use the wench to crank it up to your truck.

    Good Luck

  4. You can build a very simple trailer using large diameter tires such as mountain bike tires or wider tires such as wheel barrow tires depending on the terrain. Build to suit your proper height for loading you should be able to wheel your jet-skii to the water quite easily.

  5. if you dont mind spending a few bucks,

my neighbor has two of these. he just transfers them trailer to dolly, then just simply hauls it around his yard for easy access. keep in mind they are not rated for a few miles per hour or above if that.

or do a google search on dolleys, beach dolleys, or pwc dolleys.
