I need to find families to babysit?

Question

The family i was babysitting for moved and now I am jobless. I am certified and know CPR. I need to find another soon. Ive had a few jobs now and then, but nothing ppermanent. How do I get the word out?

I would post on craigslist. That is where I look for my babysitters. Good Luck!

Try http://www.care.com or the local newspaper.  Also fliers work too.  Post them in grocery stores and other places where they are bound to be noticed.

I'd try Craigs List too - I was just looking for sitters in there, and its FREE!! - Also if you're in a small town, the local small town newspaper, church bulletin.... Thats where i'd look for a sitter

Do a letter box drop in the area that you want to work or visit day cares and ask to put up a notice.

Word of mouth is the best way,  just keep telling everyone.  Did you get a reference of the family you used to babysit for?

Do you have a local indoor playground?  Those are becoming very popular...  Perhaps you could apply for a job  or just see if you can volunteer?  That would be an excellent way to meet families.

Really, any organization that works with kids (the YMCA, Gymboree, etc.) would be a great place to meet kids and their families.  If you could get a job (paid or volunteer) at one of those, families could see your work firsthand and you could build trust that way.  (I personally would not contract a babysitter from any website like craigslist... Too many freaks in this world!)

Do you go to church?  You could post an announcement at the church daycare.
