  1. Contact Antique Roadshow

  2. Usually they have maker marks on the back so find a good site or go to the library with either a photo or rough drawing of the mark and see if it looks like any of the marks on file.  If you still can't find the mark you could always take it to an Antique Dealer and see if they can help you just be aware that they might charge you.

  3. Check down at your favorite big bookstore.  They have a collectibles section there and you should find a book about Plates and their values.  I spend a lot of time at Barnes & Noble and know they have a large section there.

Please don't go the ebay route.  The prices you get on ebay only reflect what someone is willing to pay for it.  You might put your plate up and the plate market has fallen out the floor.

Antiques Roadshow has the appraisers there in which ever big city they're in.  You could find out their schedule and take the plate there.

I have a feeling that the bookstore is the way to go right now; give you immediate information.

    Good luck!!!!
