We are relocating to Chile and need to transport our pets (8 toy poodles, one cat and two reptiles), two adults and one pallet of personal belongings. We can ship our personal belongings through a cargo ship if needed to be so. The most important thing is the safety of our pets and we do not care to ship them through air cargo. We would meet the captain in the port of departure. Is someone out there who can help us

  1. Ship them by Air.  It's the fastest and safest way to ship your animals.  You can get the regulations on the Airlines websites.  It's not cheap.  You need papers from the Vet and you have to fill out papers.  They can't be vicious pets.  The reptiles can be shipped thru the mail, if properly identified and packaged professionally to meet the P.O. regs.  You need to know the rules for animals entering Chile.  What they allow.  What they will quarantine for up to a year, before they enter the country.  Once there they will be seized if not proper.  There is no "do over" when it comes to animals.  Make sure you deal with an Airline that ships animals directly to Chile, not making several stops.  Good Luck.

  2. I have a 100 ton license with Aux. Sail endorsement and I wouldn't touch that deal with a 10 foot pole... I like my license and I like my freedom too much.

What you are asking someone to do is HIGHLY ILLEGAL and could have some serious consequences.

  3. Of all the bad ideas that I've read on here, this one is by far the most recent.

Transshipment of animals across international borders is regulated heavily. If you can't get permits to bring your animals in through air cargo, a captain isn't going to risk his job AND boat to smuggle some pets.

You need to speak with the Chilean consulate.

Commercial ships don't transport live animals except for livestock in bulk. Sorry.

  4. Yep I can haul that for you. My usual fee from Texas to Chile is

$1,000 per toy poodle, I'll take the kitty and the reptiles for free. The cargo pallet can sit on the stern but it aint covered so you will need to supply  some weather cover. Of course I dont know how you are all (2 people, 8 dogs, 2 reptiles and one cat) going to survive in one cabin. The captain doesnt allow pets to run loose onboard. He has been known to throw animals overboard that get underfoot.

  5. Are you freaks nuts?  To Chile??

c**p, it's safer to smuggle weed.

Nobody's going to help you, sorry.
