  1. Too bad it can only go up to 1750 CE (or common era for those other who don't know, it's the same as AD). If you could go up to 2000, you could use Billy Joel's "We didn't start the fire". But seriously, might I suggest nursery rhymes? An example could be "ring around the rosy", which is believed to be about the numerous plauges that swept across Europe during the middle ages. Or "Lullabye", which was supposed to be a song to try and ward off a female demon called Lilluth, who was belived to be the cause of what is known today as sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). You could also look across the net through various search engines to find sonnets or ballads that were written during those times, as many were often set to music, hence making them songs. If you need more modern songs, you could use "Great Wall of China" and "No Man's Land" off Billy Joel's River of Dreams CD (tracks 2 and 1, respectively). Great Wall could relate to the economic seclusion of China during the earlier time period, and "No Man's Land" could relate to the beginnings of the foundations and quick economic and social changes in the New World, although it's lyrics suggest a more modern time period. I hope this helps.

  2. Henry the eigth by hermans hermits

    Rasputtin by Boney M

if stuck, I suggest switiching over to instrumental or classical pieces.
