I'm looking for the source book/publication where of the Emile Zola wrote/said, "The fate of animals is of greater importance to me than the fear of appearing ridiculous; it is indissolubly connected with the fate of man.” I've googled (sorry yahoo) and can only find where the quote is quoted not where it is in its original context. Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide me with this info!

  1. "The fate of animals is of greater importance ...

it is indissolubly connected with the fate of men" Emile Zola

I cannot locate a source but located the quote in a 1961 text and the one in the sources below.

Makes one wonder if Zola said such.

  2. I don't know if it'll work, but have you tried brainyquote.com ?

It usually has a bunch of details about all sorts of quotes.
