I need to find travel insurance for my 87 year old Gran?

She's travelling to Canada for 3 months this autumn, and is having difficulty in finding suitable cover. Most insurance brokers cover up to age 85 max. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

  1. One of my insurers, Travel Underwriters, offers Visitors to Canada plans for people up to age 89. A policy with a $150,000 limit will cost about $1,100. Pre-existing conditions would not be covered, as well any illnesses occurring with the first seven days would not be covered (accidents would be). Also keep in mind if she leaves Canada for any reason, even for a quick trip across the border, the policy terminates. You can find an agent close to where she is traveling to by going here:

    www.travelunderwriters.com

I would recommend you arrange this as soon as possible.

  2. I'm no expert on this, but I would suggest you have a look here, there is expert's ideas you mayfind.http://insurance.free-onlinetip.info/ins...

  3. I think she's going to be "self insured" for this trip.  If she bought the tickets through a travel agent, she should have been offered coverage already, HOWEVER, it doesn't cover any pre-existing conditions.
