  1. I've been in the same situation as you and did it myself. I practiced for 3 hours and still made a mistake (the jig slipped whilst cutting). I'm still glad I did it because I learned a lot, but if you want your kitchen to look good then hire a pro.

  2. If you don't fancy the router you can use jointing strips, doesn't look as good a finish but a lot easier. you really need to be confident with a router and jig or you could make a mess of it all.

  3. Its not as easy as it seems its like anything, the more you practise the better you become. I would defiantly practise on some scrap first. Cutting laminate worktop is difficult in that its prone to chipping, and if it does then your screwed, a decent router bit is essential. Getting in a pro wouldn't cost allot just to cut the mitres, its just finding one who will.

  4. I would advise to get a pro in 2do the job.

Using a jig is not all it is cracked up to be.

the reason for this is that very rarely are the walls of any kitchen exactly at 90 degree rightangles to the other walls.

it is normal to scribe to the shape of any wall.

you may have a few millimetres of lee way as normally any tiles or splashback tends to cover any small gaps along the back walls.
