  1. that is a pretty large wattage range you have there

if you send too much power to your sub, you risk damaging it. The cone of the speaker and the mechanical parts that make it move may break under the stress. Surprisingly, too little power can also damage your subwoofer — in fact, it's actually more common than damage caused by overpowering.

Even the toughest sub, however, can be damaged by excessive distortion from a clipped signal.

When the volume is turned up and the amp doesn't have enough power, the signal becomes distorted, or "clipped." This distorted signal can cause parts of the speaker to overheat, warp and melt. Not good!

You don't have to match speaker and amp wattages exactly. An amp with a higher output than the speaker's rating won't necessarily damage the speaker — just turn the amp down a bit if you hear distortion from the sub and don't run the speaker at extremely loud volumes for lengthy periods. Likewise, you'll be OK with a lower powered amp if you keep the volume down and don't feed a distorted signal to the sub

these brands are all "good ones" because they are CEA-compliant which means that the amps have been tested and produce or exceed the advertised RMS wattage with minimum distortion (distortion is the main cause of speaker damage)

  2. The Rockford p1000-1bd will give you a little over 900 rms at 2 ohms i have the p1000 and it is an incredible amp

  3. I personaly like JL Audio, but there are alot of ones that will do the job. In car audio you get what you pay for.

  4. Almost all amp manufacturers have an amplifier that can run between 600-900 watts rms, at 2ohms, if you have not tested any amps or this is your first amplifier, i would stick to the manufacturers that are CEA compliant, that way you know that you are getting the wattage amount or more, rockford fosgate and kicker make great amps, and are CEA compliant there are other great amps also but may require you to do research to see if they are actually good or not, also read specs to see which one gives you the real wattage in a real world enviroment, some amps say, 900watts rms at 14.4 volts, and that may differ in your car, stick with the CEA amps and you will be happy.....
