  1. If you buy a phone you can have it unlocked so it works off all networks. Just ring up the current network provider and ask for the code they may charge you for this.

  2. what kind of phone do u want?

  3. why not go over to virgin media get a free phone and pay a monthly contract of £12. 150 free txts and phone calls!

  4. It sounds like you are currently in the middle of a contract with Three, where your handset is broken but your SIM is OK, is that correct? If so you may need to be careful putting the Three SIM in another handset. As other posters have said, phones can be unlocked but that doesn't mean all phones will be able to take your SIM, some 2G handsets may not work - so beware buying an older style handset off of eBay for example.

The Three website has a Sony Ericsson K530i for £59.99 that will come with a PaYG SIM included. The SIM has £10 credit which you can use up then discard and put in your existing contract SIM.

Alternatively if your existing contract is about to expire you can get the better Sony Ericsson K610iR for £15 a month on a new contract. Three are currently doing this on a pretty amazing 6 month contact length - so the handset effectively costs £90 and you get 6 months of free calls.

And if you use this referer link to start a new account you get a £30 credit added to your account, so the phone ends up costing £60 (with free 300 mins per month calls) - cheaper than just buying the handset outright!
