I need to get a safety/road worthy certificate for my car ( in QLD), what do they check?

I am pretty short of money and want to be able to make sure that everything is pretty much good before i pay for someone to check it over and give me the certificate. What do they check specifically? tyre tread? how much? door handles? ( some of mine are broken? My boot no longer opens also... ANy links to any sites that list the minimum requirements?

  1. Link/Web-site = qldtransport.gov and follow the links on the Page.

    transport dept. checks EVERY-THING , from handles to locks to lights to treads to.........every-thing!

    sorry , but you would be advised to contact the Dept. to get their view on it and get the correct Road-worthy Info. from the people who made the Rules.

    this will also help you to be "not ripped-off" by a shoddy mechanic.

    if you go to a `shoddy` , you`ll still have to pay the Fine if you get caught , not him...!
