I need to get an idea of what it should reasonably cost to have a hot water heater gas valve installed??

I HAVE A GAS WATER HEATER WITH THE NEW FLAME GUARD SAFETY SYSTEM.TECNICAL ASSISTANCE AT THE FACTORY IS SENDING ME A NEW GAS VALVE FREE,BUT I MUST PAY LABOR TO GET IT INSTALLED.I NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT WOULD BE A FAIR PRICE A PLUMBER WOULD CHARGE TO GET IT INSTALLED.THANKS

  1. this would depend on where you live and what the plumbers in your area charge for the service call....probably about 80 dollars for the service call and somewhere between 45 and 65 dollars an hour labor....this job should only take about 1 hour, so you are looking at somewhere between 120 to 150 dollars depending on the plumbers rates. you do not have to drain the water from a gas heater to replace the gas valve.


  2. I don't know how much someone else would charge but it is a simple job that should take less than 15 minutes.

      most  plumbers will have a call out fee. of $55

      i would like  to   say around   $145  total

  4. You will save some time by having the water drained from the tank before the repair person gets there.

    Around $100 would be average.
