Via NJ Transit train (Main Line).  Take a Hoboken bound train and transfer at Secaucus Junction for a NY Penn station bound train (upper level). One way fare to NY Penn station (including the transfer fee at Secaucus) is $5.50.

At NY Penn Station , walk over to the #1, 2 or 3 subway (numbers in Red circles) on the LIRR level.  Take any of these UPTOWN one stop to 42nd St-Times Square.  Transfer there to the 42nd St Shuttle (S) train to Grand Central.  At Grand Central follow the passageway to the # 4, 5, 6 trains (numbers in Green circles).  Take an UPTOWN 4 train to 161st St-Yankee Stadium.  Subway fare is $2.00 (no extra charge for transfers between subway lines).  At the 34th St-Penn Station subway station purchase a $4.00 MetroCard (either at the booth or the Vending machine).  That will cover your fare going to the stadium and the return trip.
