I have started Kung-Fu and have been in it for a month now but it is hard to tie my belt on properly. I have had the instructor etc help me a couple of times now. I do not want to look stupid and ask again. I am more of a visual learner and need to practice doing it. If I am sent instructions or access to a diagram(s) in the answer then I can practice doing it properly and of course you will get ten points.

  1. just put it around her neck and make a tie out of it and choke her, hahaha sorry andy,i could not resist.,i have no idea,i do not do karate or any other self defense activity, you should just keep asking your instructor, that is what you are paying him for,his expertise and knowledge.asking is actually a compliment to an instructor,it shows that you are really interested in becoming the best you can at his

    teachings.

  2. don't be afraid to keep asking your instructor.

you should try tying a hakama so it doesn't come off, then you'll realise a sash/obi is no problem!

  3. I don't know if your school has specific requirements but Kungfu belts/sashes have no standard requirements on how to tie them. Their only purpose is to keep your pants around your waist. There are some etiquette in placement of the knot, however. The student is expected to keep the knot to the side of the body, not in front like an instructor might.
