I weigh 58 kilos & I want to weight 50kgs, as I am overweight. I have loads of fat on my tummy, which I desperately need to loose. I am currently studying to try & get into a good university, and I am not smart, so I need to really focus and study in order to do well in the on coming exams I have in about 5 weeks. However I need to loose this weight also, so please tell me is this a good schedul to follow? & would I have lack of concentration, or low energy? please help as I need lost of energy to study & i need the information to stay in my memory...

I am going to ie;

Jog 20 minutes every morning

Work out such as squats, sit ups, stretching etc everyday for atleast 40 minutes when I come home from the community college

I will eat ie;

Breakfast - sometimes scrambled egg, or mostly two orangers...ill most likely eat two orangers for breakfast, and water

Lunch...sometimes I'll eat half a can of salmon, and sometimes two oranges, with water

Dinner, sometimes I'll eat two chicken legs, sometimes a meat paddie cut up by itself, or sometimes ill eat a fist of mince with curry for flavour, and water

Also I'll be drinking cup of tea's because i really love tea, when im studying...also if i want to snack ill eat more oranges...

And I'll be taking an iron tablet a day...

I'll be studying every night after I come home from the community college, so I'll study for at least 4 hours with some breaks in between, as i am not smart & this is my last chance to do really well to try and get into university otherwise my parents told me if i dont get into university they'll kick me out of the house & i have to fend for myself, also I turned 19 years old this year...so please helppp...i need to loose weight as well as eat healthy to have good memory so i can do well in my studies...

So please tell me, is this a good schedul or not? or if you can please write me a schedul you think would be good, including my study plan etc...please helpp also 10 points goes to the best help and answers...

also please tell me what study plan is best, and sometimes ill eat cabbage for my dinner instead of meat, and sometimes ill eat salmon for dinner instead of for lunch and for the lunch ill make it oranges..

  1. I tried to lose weight and stop smoking at the same time; I just woke up with the motivation one day. They tried to tell me... but I just didn't listen. Don't set 2 major goals at once. If you fail at one, you'll beat yourself up and fail at the other. I was losing weight and down to 2 cigs a day... but after 2 weeks I crashed and burned. I was under stressed so I started smoking more. Then I felt guilty and just started eating more.

    Therefore, concentrate on the most important, school. But being able to do schoolwork and have a good memory still means eating healthy and exercising. You can wake up, eat a healthy breakfast, stretch, and then jog your 20 minutes. Don't see it as excersise. See it as a way to get your brain awake and moving. You're mind will be ready to learn now.

    Stressed out from studying? Do some sit-ups or run around your house/dorm for a few minutes. Then go back to your room and relax for a bit before studying again.

    You're too worried about your diet. I don't see it working. I see you getting hungry and not being able to concentrate on your school work!! Do a search on the net for 'healthy meals'... do not use the word 'diet'. You don't need a diet right now, it's not what's important at the moment. If you do what I said, which is not really a diet, you should be able to concentrate more, learn more, and probably shed a little weight as well.

    One more thing, if you have a scale, throw it in the trash. I'm serious. Right now. Why are you still sitting there? Go do it!!!

    The answerer, 'Pointless Name' has good tips concerning food, I believe. I almost like the idea of keeping a journal, but I think it would be better if at the end of the day, you made a list of all your daily accomplishments, and not just one's concerning school (e.g., jogged for 20 minutes, read 2 chapters of some book, helped someone pick up a stack of books they dropped, made someone smile, etc.).

    And don't forget to reward yourself!!! One or two days a week, forget about schoolwork. After that big exam of yours, take some major time off to reward yourself for all that hard work!

  2. Well, you need to eat a wider variety of fruits and vegetables instead of just oranges.

    Do you like apples, bananas, peaches, cherries, strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, pineapple, grapes, any type of melon?

    Baby carrots, broccoli, spinach salad, tomato, red/green "sweet" peppers, celery, etc?

    What about low-fat/fat-free yogurt and cottage cheese?

    Nuts such as almonds, walnuts, pecans?

    Whole-grain breads and pasta.

    Take a multi-vitamin, as well.

    As for school, you definitely should study as much as you're able, but give yourself a little bit of time to relax.  Try to study two or three seperate times a day, and get yourself a comfortable place where you'll go just to study and focus on nothing but the material.  Do all of your course work, and if you don't understand something.. ask for help and research it!  Do EVERY assigment and always try your best.  Be there on time!

    I'd also recommend talking to your advicer or something and they'll help you figure out a plan.

    Try to forget about your weight and just focus on eating healthier and gaining valuable knowledge, and you'll lose "body fat."  I'd recommend getting hand-weights and using them to do squats and the like.  Think of it as improving your health, and your overall self!  Exercising and getting all of your vitamins and minerals should help you focus and feel better.  Finally, think of your course work as interesting as best as you can.  Try to enjoy it!

    Make sure you get at LEAST eight hours of sleep every night.  Your plan of drinking a lot of water is a good idea, too.  Drinking a glass of water before every meal will also help fill you up and eat less.

    Try your best not to stress out.  Perhaps keep a journal of everything you've done successfully that day, and try to look at the bright side of things.

    You can do this!

  3. it sounds as if youre focused too much on your weight, calories, etc, when school is much more important. it also doesnt sound like you are getting all the nutrients our bodies require in order to function properly, and that includes the brain, so youre not helping yourself at all in the long run.  dont obsess over your weight and focus all of your attention on your school work- noone who spends this much time planning their diet can succeed at a university- not to mention the lack of nutrition (oranges for lunch?! youre going to end up crashing and burning, hun. you need to see a dietician and learn how to feed your body healthfully). good luck and stop worrying about how you look. your mind is infinitely more important, and so is your education. losing wieght has nothing to do with getting into a university.

  4. yes i believe that is a good plan. i heard of this one weight lost drink and u drink 2 oz. rite b4 u breakfast and lunch (not dinnr) and u wont be as hungry so maybe u should try it. sorry but i dont know the name of it by i do know u could get it at walmart. (yes walmart but dont get me wrong it does work) but maybe instead of jogging u can do a better activity that is fun like get a one of those mini trampolines that u could put in front of the TV and u could be exercising while watchin TV.

    hopefully this helped. :)
