I need to get my credit report from annual credit report.com but am afraid of Identity theft.?

Which would be the safest. By Email,Postal mail or phone.

  1. Annualcreditreport.com uses a Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption (that is what the https means rather than http)- so it is as safe as handing your credit card to a cashier at a store.


  2. Use the site.  It is secure and you can access your report immediately.   You go thru a series of security questions before getting access to your credit report.  Any doubt, and they won't let you in.  You would then have to send a letter with copies a your driver's license, social security card, and other personal info to get your report.

    Email is probably the LEAST secure method.

  3. Annualcreditreport.com is safe.  I would go there.  It is a secured site, so no need to worry about identy theft.

  4. Internet is fine. I do it every year too.

  5. It is absolutely safe. It's government recommended!

    Shopping online at a known site is safer than sending it through the mail.
