I can sometimes set I can Sometinmes hit and bump but I rarly ever get my overhand serve over! Anyone who can help me I thank you so much!

  1. I would assume that you are right-handed.

1> Position yourself so that your weight is more on your right foot.

2> "Lock up" your feet so that you cannot move your right foot, and only move your left foot forward.

3> Move your left foot half step forward (or make no move) while tossing the ball (with no spin).

4> The ball should be tossed above your reach level but not too high. At the same time, drag your right hand over your right shoulder and have your palm (no fist) next to your ear, with elbow at the same height. Your body should now face the right side, and should be kept upright (unless you are really short and you want to serve "up").

5> Swing your right arm, make contact at the center back of the ball with your open-palm. You may make the contact at a lower spot on the ball, and make a "sky serve". Make sure that your arm is straight and your palm is open.

6> Following thru with your arm swing, while/after making contact with the ball, your weight should move over to your left foot.

7> Run to your "base" position and get ready for defense.

  2. It hepls and gives you more power if you step in to the serve and give yourself a good toss.

  3. Well I learned by doing a bow and arrow move. Just like you're shooting an arrow, you bring your right hand back and extend your left arm. You throw the ball up with your left arm and serve the ball with your right.

  4. ok always point your toe in the direction you want the ball to go. Alwayss... that kills me 24/7...

  5. for overhand serving, first you have to position your feet correctly. ir you're right handed, your left foot should be in front of your right, and about shoulder width apart. i learned to pull my hitting hand back, like you're about to throw a football. think of these steps in your head- quarterback, lift, step, hit. so first get your hitting arm in position, make sure your elbow is high. with your non hitting hand, toss the ball up as high as your reach is. you dont wanna toss the ball to close to you or behind you. you want the ball in front of you. you can practice your tosses by just keeping your quarterback up and tossing the ball and letting it land. it should bounce in front of your hitting hand. just practice your toss for a while, and you should be able to get it down. your toss is the most important part of your serve anyway. if you mess up your toss, you usually mess up your servve.

  6. With ur hand reach the farthest u can, thats were u should hit the ball.. when u toss it dont toss it to high or too low.. u need to snap ur hand when hitting the ball and go all the way through, like if u were going to hit your leg.. also step with ur left foot and always keep practicing :]
