  1. cheap and fast is oxymoron

you need to evaluate the alternatives & select what you can reasonably afford

I think the fastest is helicopter pick you up at some place where you park your car, and land you on roof of building nearest your destination.  That is probably too expensive for you.

I think the cheapest is to walk the whole way.  That is probably takes too long.

Can you take a water taxi?  That's like a bus on the rivers and canals ... the route tends to be more straight than on roads,  Although speed of a water taxi is slower than that of a bus or car on highway, there is no traffic jam, so the ride is pretty smooth.

A bicycle can be faster than traffic stuck in traffic jam, but you have to have good safety gear, good reflexes, good luck, be physically fit.

  2. Try the GO train (won't be cheap), or possibly the tram or bus. Toronto is a large place with many commuter options. Either way, the Subway is pretty much the fastest way around the city unfortunately.

  3. Take an express bus.

  4. Check with the mass transit company in your city/town and see if they offer a more rapid way of getting where you need to go.
