Question:

I need to get stains out of my clothing without pre-treating them?

I just ran out of pre-treat and I'm not able to get some more right now. Something in my washer made all of my shirts come out with brownish-green spots on them. Are there any things that are found in an average house that I could use to get the stains out?

  1. Just use the laundry detergent you use for washing to pre-treat the stains. I just scrub it in with an old toothbrush and wash on cold. Although, brownish green stains sounds like a coloring issue which would not be treatable with stain remover or detergent. The only way to get color transfer out will be to get some RIT dye remover from the laundry aisle and a box of you favorite color to re-dye the clothing. It is much cheaper than buying new clothes.

  2. try just soap and water.  or you could soak the clothes in water and add a little baking soda and vinegar.
