I need to go to court for drinking in a car, i was not driving what would the judge tell me?

i live in bay area near hayward. i went out with three other friends we were drinking and we got pulled over. i know my friend got a dui and more severe consequences but what about me? i think i will pay a fined but how much? or is there come consequences. oh by the way we were on the road and drinking at the same time

You absolutely cannot go to jail...even for a day...for this.  You can't lose your license since you weren't driving.  You might be fined a little for public drunk, and the judge could send you for evaluation for alcoholism (just a written test of sorts).  If you are under 18 and your parents don't know yet, the judge will likely make sure they do.  I don't think you can get fined for "open container".  I've been fined for that before as a driver with others drinking in the car, and been told that only the driver can get fined.

Don't be nervous, but don't seem cocky in court.  Dress very nicely, be very polite to the judge, and if he/she asks what you were thinking, apologize and say you weren't thinking, but you will in the future, and you won't ever drink in a car again.  You'll do fine!

.    The jails are full. The judge will give you a stern warning.  Dress nice, be respectful and don't get mad.  The prosecutor will make you mad when she describes your crime.

I don't live in Cali but the judge will probably hit you with a couple of misdemeanors like an open container in a vehicle. Second drinking will underage if you are under 21. After that i don't think he has anything else to hit you with. as for the fine probably several hundred dollars and community service.

Sounds like an open container law violation, as a minimum,  and there will be consequences. What those will be will be determined by the court and may well depend on whether or not you have a past record.

You will only get a fine for open liquor in a vehicle , around 50.00 bucks. There is nothing else they can do since you where not driving
