I need to go to some calm and quiet place near Delhi for a day or 2 with in 250 kms only. I just dont have time to think so plz reply me asap with any contact no if you have.

  1. Place to visit near Delhi.

    1. Damdama Lake: Located to the east of Sohna and 64 Kms from Delhi, this picnic spot among the Aravali hills, offers an ideal setting for boating and rock climbing.

    2. Deeg: A small town, Deeg set between two large water tanks is 36 km. north of Bharatpur and 90 km. from Agra. Here the rulers of Bharatpur built a charming sandstone and marble palace in the 18th century.

    3. Dehradun: The political hub of Uttaranchal state and it’s capital, this beautiful valley town is famous as Doon valley located 230Kms. From Delhi. A place of scenic beauty, Dehradun is also known for its famous Indian Military Academy (IMA), Doon School and the Forest Research Institute and also very near to it is the famous hill station of Mussoorie.

    4. Dhauj : Situated near Faridabad-Sohna Road 40 Kms from Delhi, Dhauj with its imposing red cliffs and reservoir among the Aravali ranges provides excellent opportunity for rock climbing and bird watching.

Agra can be visited by both road and Railways. Shatabdi Express train runs between New Delhi and Bhopal via Agra .The Taj Express highway provides in for a three hours drive between Delhi and Agra.

    6. Ajmer: One of India’s most unique cities depicting a combination of both islamic and hindu cultures in it’s history. 450 Kms. From Delhi Ajmer was founded by Raja Ajay Pal Chauhan in 17th century A.D. Situated in the city is pushkar temple ajmerone of the most sacred of muslim shrines in country, the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti, the Sufi saint. 11, kms northeast from the city is Pushkar is a famous Hindu pilgrim center. It is famous for its temple dedicated to Lord Brahma. Famous Pushkar fair is another tourist attraction of this Lake city. In Ajmer Jain temple, Taragarh fort, Adhai Din ka Jhopra are other places to visit. Mayo College is very well known for its educational standards, founded in 1875 for the education of the sons of the ruling families of Rajasthan.

    7. ALWAR: - With a distance of just 160 Kms. from Delhi makes Alwar quite accessible for tourists. Historical city I Alwar is famous for the City Palace 'Museum, forts, Vinay Vilas Palace, Purjan Vihar and tomb of Fatheganj. Maharana Pratap Singh won this beautiful and historical city based on the Aravali hills back in 1775 A.D. This city is also famous for its Milk Cake.

    8. BADKHAL: Badkhal is now being regarded as a Near Capital region (NCR) with just a distance of 32 Kms. from Delhi. Located on Delhi-Mathura Road this lake is an ideal picnic spot, which provides excellent facilities for boating, fishing and aquatic sports.
