I need to import the official time in Sydney Australia into my IT system. How do I do it? What is the source?

Because it does not guarantee the accuracy of the time stamp, I cannot use the Wiki Website.

The legal requirement is that, at all times, my IT System will not be more than 1 second off Australian Eastern Standard Time (= UTC + 10 hours).

  1. wow. where do you work that requires not more than 1 sec differnece?  That's full on. We're always changing our clocks to get outta here earlier.

Sydney = GMT+10hours (what's UTC stand for?? GMT = Greenwich Mean Time)

    http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/

go to that link, it will give you GMT and the current time of whatever zone you are in.

  2. Do you mean setting the internal clock on your PC?  If so, and you're using Windows XP, just double-click on the time at the bottom right hand side of screen, ensure the time is correct, select Time Zone, and select Sydney.  If that's not what you mean, then I can't offer any other help.

  3. You could use the Network Time Protocol (RFC-1305)

    http://tf.nist.gov/service/its.htm

Mine is set to use time.windows.com but only once a week.

This is set using "internet time" on date & Time Properties.
