I need to increase my vert fast?

i play volleyball and can grab the rim, but i need only 1-3 inches on my vert to dunk. What are some of the methods i can take to get my vert up fast.(things that i can do at home), but i have a plyo box.

  1. Stand on a  couch or something and jump off of it and as you are landing bend you knees to about a 100 degree angle. When you land go back on your heels and then transfer the weight to your toes. and jump as high as you can. Fling you arm in the air. You can do these anywhere as long as the surface ins at least 6'' off the ground. If you do ten of these in a row you should be breathing very hard or else you did them wrong. My coach would call these death jumps. Also if you are out and about what I do is I walk around on my toes to strengthen me calves.

  4. You need to understand that increasing your vertical does not happen fast. You need to stretch well, work hard everyday at repetitions, and train your muscles over time.

    You will also hit a ceiling on vertical leap. You can not keep training and training and jumping higher and higher and eventually be able to touch a telephone line or something else ridiculous.

    Try plyometrics like some stated, but also remember to work on triggering your calves and thighs in quick explosions when jumping and squatting. It's what plyometrics is all about.

  5. 1st It is very important to do a lot of stretching on you calf mussels. This will help them grow longer and help you to increase your vert. Plyometrics are great. Calf raises on inverted angles that allow you to dip low.  Squats work. Running up hills works. Using weights on your ankles works.
