I need to install a 3 wire plug to a hotpoint dryer?

i do not know which wire of my 3 wire plug goes to the connection in back of my hotpoint 5 cycle dryer

Driers often have a 220vac connection.  there is one common wire and two hot wires.  the two hot wires are interchangeable, doesn't matter which one goes where.

if you had a dryer there before, hopefully the socket is already there and wired correctly.  if it's a matter of what wires from a new plug (do yourself a favor and don't reuse an old one) to go to what connections on the back of your dryer, i'd suggest pulling out the manual and checking a diagram or if all else fails, there is probably a 1-800 number somewhere in the document you can call.

On back of Dryer middle wire is ground

The two outside wires are the power wires 110 volts each.

the little green wire is a case ground put it on s***w in the case of dryer.
