I need to know 2 trees, 2 plants, and two food resources (pretty much vegetation) in the midwest?

In Nebraska, (where I am from) we have  a lot of oak and maple trees.   Two plants:  milkweed and juniper bushes.   Two food resources:  lots of corn and  wheat in Nebraska!
