I'm coming up on my one year anniversary with my girlfriend and since she's becoming interested in photography I've decided to get her a digital camera. I have very little idea on what to look for...

Left on my own, I could pick something decent, but some advice would help a lot.I have a kodak easyshare dx7630 which she enjoys, so

Thanks in advance.

  1. Look here and find one that uses the same SD / SDHC memory card yours does.  Then you can share memory cards if necessary and as you buy new cameras every three to four years, you will have many more choices.

    Look here:

Any Nikon, Casio, Panasonic, Pentax or Canon should suit her needs ... look for some that are slim and s**y.   Pink may be a good choice too.

  2. If you want a DLSR then it's going to be a lot more expensive than that...it depends on how much you're willing to spend...you can get a nikon d40 or a canon xt for around $500 or you could go the next step and get a nikon d60 or a canon xti for around $700. They're all good cameras (i have a d60) i recommend a nikon or canon because they're rated the best

  3. My current favorite affordable camera is the Canon 590 IS, at about $150.

It has lots of features, including image stabilizaton, face recognition, movie mode and manual exposure control, 8MP, 4x optical zoom. It has more features than other cameras in its class.

  4. it really depends on your price range. My cousin loves photogrophy and she has the Nikon D70 that camera is great, but a bit pricey. here is a link that shows you some cameras!

    hope this helps!
