  1. depends

on where you want to travel from.

you could probably get on a ship from florida and get a good deal

call a good travel agent.   cruises are worth it.

    have a good time

  2. I have enjoyed Princess cruise lines 8 times thus far. #9 is coming up very soon. I love the idea of once your are on the ship, you unpack and then the fun starts. It is the most relaxing vacation you could have. I have also found that cruising is actually cheaper then say going on your own to Hawaii, paying for all your meals and renting a car, etc. Plus it is worry free. Everything is done for you and you are treated like royalty. A cruise for 1 week can range in price from about $800 per person on up. I also have used "vacations to go" and they are great, but I think first time cruisers might be more comfortable using a regular travel agent. That way you can get lots of tips, ask as many questions as necessary, plus get lots of brochures too. You can't go wrong picking a cruise for your honeymoon.

  3. I have been on Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean ships and can vouch that they are good cruise lines. However, there are some differences.

    - Princess, Celebrity and Holland America have great ships are more classy and reserved. They are just a little more upscale and luxurious than the other cruise lines. Passengers tend to be middle aged and up and have cruised multiple times. Holland America has mostly senior citizens cruising on its ships. Princess and Holland America also have the "eat dinner whenever you want" policy if that's important to you.

-Norwegian cruise line is good, they cater to families and have mostly passengers in the range of age 35-40 and up. Its the line that you want to go on if you want to be informal for pretty much your whole cruise. They have formal nights like other cruise lines but they do not stress dressing up; the call it "dress up if you want to" night. This is the cruise line that advertises "freestyle cruising"; meaning you do not have a set dinner seating but just go anytime you want after about 6:00 PM.

Carnival is the budget cruise line that generally has the lowest prices. They cater to young people, first time cruiser and families. The best of their ships are their newer ships so do pay attention to when the ship was launched is you find a really cheap cruise. A seven day cruise on a Carnival ship can be as low as $650. per person.

Royal Caribbean is also a cruise line that caters to young cruiser and families. It has the advantage of having the most on-board activities. Things like ice skating, roller blading, mini-golf course, a full sized basketball/tennis court, the rock climbing wall, and on the new Freedom Class ships the surfing simulator, the Flowrider.

There are a lot of factors that affect what cruise you should select. Cruises generally cost about $125.00 per day per person. Since cruises can be between 3, and 12, or 14 days or more the price will depend mostly on how many days your cruise is and also on the type cabin/accommodations that you choose.

    There are 4 basic types of cabins on ships;

    - inside (no window),................................... least expensive

    - outside (a window or porthole),

    - balcony/veranda, and

    - suites and penthouses.......................... most expensive.

The "FROM" prices you see will always be for an inside cabin. Then the cruise lines give the best price for early bookings that are a year or more in advance. Cruise lines also list specials on their web sites so do look for those. The specials can many times save you a couple hundred per person over the price for the exact same cruise on a different date.

I have listed below the web sites for the medium priced cruise lines which operate from US ports. These are the cruise lines that most people use. There are some luxury lines that are much higher priced with prices starting around $4,000 for a 7 day cruise. The lines that I have listed below will have cruises starting in the range of $700 to $1,000 per person for a 7 day cruise, again depending upon the date and type cabin you select.

I have now been on about 20 cruises and Royal Caribbean and Celebrity are now my favorite cruise lines. So my recommendation to you is go to the web sites for those two and find the cruise that you think you would like.

  4. They are SO worth it.  I wish I knew about cruises when I first got married.  My wife and I are going on a Caribbean cruise in December for a week with Carnival and it will cost us a total of 1150 for the whole week, including taxes, port charges, etc.  It will be our third cruise.  The food is great and there are comedy shows, contests, ice carvings, movies, all of which are included in the price of the cruise.  Not to mention the islands themselves with unlimited activities.  People put Carnival down, but honestly, they are a great value and have fantastic service.  It's great for couples such as yourself.  Really, none of the cruislines are bad, but some are much more expensive, such as Disney.  With Disney you are paying extra for the Disney experience--characters walking around the boat, Mickey-theme everywhere, you get the idea.

As for booking a stateroom, you have to decide what is important to you.  Our first cruise, we had a balcony.  Unfortunately, I NEVER used it.  I was usually out on deck enjoying the sun and activities with everyone else.  On our subsequent cruises, we saved money by choosing an oceanview stateroom (has a window) or an inside stateroom (no window).  As for booking a room, there are lots of places to go.  I use the VacationsToGo website (I'll include a link below).  No I don't work for them!  They have a great interface of looking at 100 cruises at the same time for easy price comparison.  I also use the Carnival website and have booked directly from them in the past with no problems.

Message me on here if you have any additional questions.

  5. Royal Carribean looks like fun:

  6. Carnival.

prices are well worth it, so are the cruises, there is never a moment where there is nothing to do. but call a travel agent, or 1-888-CARNIVAL.

  7. I was traveling with Carnival a couple of weeks ago. There are many choices of cabins and the tickets are only a couple hundred bucks. The cruises are a lot of fun- complimentary movie tickets, free food and most drinks free, casinos, fun filled contests, and one of my favorite things was watching the sunset from the ship. The best way to book a cruise is to use the internet- the same way you are asking the question.

I recommend Carnival Cruise Lines (www.carnival.com). I had a lot of fun traveling with them.

  8. royal carribean!!! it's not trashy and it's classy enough. i haven't been on princess or celebrity but i hear those are really up there and royal carribean is perfect! reasonable prices are about $800 per person. food is included and you can get drink passes. and there is even a honeymoon game!

  9. Carnival is a good cruise line and I'm sure you can find others at the website from the person who also answered.  There is a website with great prices for cruises and other vacation packages that you should check out to book this or make any other kind of travel arrangements.  It is called http://ytbtravel.com/soulstar370
