I need to know about land and taxLaws in newZealand.?

I want to know if its possible to live in the woods alone in peace. grow my own food, build my own place, etc.

the "woods" LOL u must mean the "BUSH"  I think you gotta tell someone where you intend on roughin' it....whoever owns the land...DOC....family etc...1st of all you dont wanna have a search party out lookin 4 ya thinkin u lost, 2ndly you definately DONT wanna get shot or run in2 any of the druggies that grow or pig/deer hunters...oh & if you do go bush - DONT got to the Uruwera's....u myt run in2 Tame Iti hahahahaha
