Hello, I have a 10 gallon tank with 4 danios 2 guppies and 1 corydoras. I recently heard that cories like more than one so I think I shall get another one. I also heard that Siamese algae eaters stay small and are good for an aquarium. Well, would he be suitable for my aquarium or get to big?? I need to know EVERYRTHING about them!

  1. I now see you are talking about flying foxes. They get to 3 1/2 inches. Unfortunately, you are already overstocked, but if you remove your danios, you could fit 2 otocinclus catfish.

  2. A Siamese Algae eater stays smaller than a Chinese Algae Eater but is still not small enough for a 10 gallon tank. They are kinda territorial and need their space so I wouldn't put them in anything less than a 20 gallon long. They do eat algae but will also eat your live plants, especially any kind of moss. They get about 4-6 inches long and aren't usually easy to find in a pet store since most petstores just stock the Chinese Algae Eaters.

Here's what I think you should do, exchange the corydoras (most corydoras get too large to be kept in a group in a 10 gallon tank anyways) catfish for another danio and then you'll be pretty much fully stocked for a 10 gallon tank. You could get a snail or a couple shrimp (they may get eaten) but thats about it.

  3. they would fit in that but if you got a bigger aqarium you might want two.
