  1. In the dormant season prune about 2/3 of last years growth. However don't prune all the wood "buds" that grew the last year because thats where the flowers start from.

Second and most important  the key to large fruit is:  Thin the crop.  You can't have the fruit more than 6 inches apart or you will be guaranteed of getting all mini balls!  You can thin the crop when they are a little smaller than pig pong balls but larger than big grapes.  On very heavy set limbs you can hit them off with a stick.  Then follow up with hand thinning.  You have to do this and it's very very boring work.  I hate to thin but it's as important as spraying.

  2. is the tree young, sometimes it takes a while until the tree is matured. Also try fertilizer and make sure it's getting plenty of sun and water.

  3. How old/big is the tree?   What is the altitude and mean temperature where you live, and how long is the growing season?  Sorry to ask so many questions, but there are lots of factors to consider.

I have a magniolia bush in my back yard.   1000 miles south of here, it would be a tree.

  4. When the peaches start producing in the spring pick the clusters down to one single fruit. This stops the tree from spending all its energy trying to keep up with 5 or 6 peaches and puts all its effort into that one big peach.

  5. Everyone's answers here are great, but one more question for you:  have you thinned out any blossoms?  If each blossom is allowed to become a fruit the fruit will be too crowded and not grow too big.  The only way to get bigger fruit now--assuming you are doing everything else just peachy keen--is to thin out some of the blossoms.

This also applies to homegrown grapes.  If you don't thin out the fruit early, you end up with more fruit but smaller fruit.

  6. You need to fill in a few more details for a better answer...

    Where do you live?

    Soil condition?

How much water do you give it?

    Do you fertilize?

    Sun exposure?

    Other plants and animals nearby?
