look at the top left side of the dashboard, where teh widnshield meets it . or the door jamb

=there is no vin number shown thru the windshield=that didn't start for many years later==you Will find a metal plate=called a vehicle data plate riveted to the back edge of the drivers door-

It's under the windshield on the dashboard in front of the driver's seat.  It should be stamped on an aluminum plate.

It's the same as the Mustang, top of the front fender aprons, the passenger side is hidden under the fender lip, it's also on the door tag but these can be changed or lost.. there may be more that only the police know..
