  1. Give best answer to Jefferson Ford!

  2. I've made a few stringed instruments myself, so i should know.  Building ANY musical instrument is expensive, but here's what you will need:

    strings: no less than $10AUD

tuners: c. $6 a peice, (though you can get sets)

bridge and nut: I made these out of aluminium, but you can buy them.

neck:  people say you need a truss rod for the neck, but i think this is overkill.  Just use tasmanian oak for the neck.

frets:  you can make your own (consider a lute with tied on frets) but i would suggest buying them. Last time i checked, a set of guitar frets was $24.  Thats why i made a lute with tied on frets!!!  For fret placement go to members.aol.com/dvdmoore/html/guitar.htm

saddle:  its possible to make your own, but you can buy them if you like. c. $10??

Also, there is a good book that has classical guitar construction:  Making Musical Instruments, Edited by Charles Ford
