  1. It won't fit in this space.

  2. In high school, you need to take all the regular college prep courses - 4 years of English, lots of math, etc.  There's nothing special you need in high school, as long as you meet college entrance requirements.

To be an accountant, you either need a degree in accounting or a business degree with a specialization or minor in accounting.  You want top-notch grades, because you're going to want a really good job right out of college to prepare you to open your own firm later.  And, if you want to sit for the CPA exam, you HAVE to work for a minimum of 1 year under the supervision of a CPA.

Every state has its own Board of Accounting Examiners or Board of Accountancy.  You'll want to double-check your state laws to see what is required to get a CPA license.  I haven't kept up with all the details but I do know that a master's degree in accounting either is now or will soon be the minimum education accepted to sit for the exam.  You can function as an accountant in any field at all without being a CPA, but having that certification will open more doors.

The exam is LONG, and it's extremely hard. Many applicants take it 2 or 3 times before they pass. http://www.cpa-exam.org/

Here's the web site for the American Institute of CPAs:
