I need to know everything about being a jockey?

I thinking of become a jockey, but i cant find out much about the job. Can you tell me about the average pay for a starting jockey. Also advantages and disadvantages.

There is allot to it,

One you must be the right weight,height, and have the love of ridding race horses. Ii is a tough Job and it takes skill, guts and lots of experience w/ horse's ,



Now about pay unless your under a contract w / a breeder to ride only his horses and Only his horses No matter if you win or lose you get paid a certain amount Yearly , with a pay ck every month ,

Now that only happens when your a BUG Boy meaning your a apprentice, and are under the weigh in at 105 or less.

No to be a regular Jockey w/ No contract You will get paid for every race you ride in ,Plus if you win, then a percent of the purse down to 4 place,

Best place to start is at a well recognized farm, There you will learn just about everything about horses Then You maybe able to gallop the horses if your good then , maybe a trainer from the track that the farm knows might need a exercise rider ,

You will be able to get a license and start on your way ,,

Then when you think your ready ,, go free lance , and find some one that will be willing to ride you ,and get a application for a App,for a Bug Jockey

Then you have to get O.K.ed out of the gates,,

And a few other things

Then your on our way

about 3 yrs depending on how much you want it , and your natural talent,
