  1. Then look up Ferrets, don't expect someone on here to tell you all that!  You're already online, you should have done that first and come on here if you don't understand something.  Talk about lazy!

  2. oh yes i know ferrets. first they should NOT be given cat food. second they should NEVER be given clumping litter, it gets in their little noses and clumps from moisture. third they shouldn't be given hammocks and such because if their nails stick, they rip and split. and most importantly,,,the ears must be cleaned daily the ears is the main source of their odors. they are fun, i started with one and ended up rescuing 6 others. most of them suffered from owners doing what i mentioned above. ferret food is not cheap either.

  3. they're wonderful pets! they're small and will steal anything they can... keep them away from rubber, foam, latex, sponge, and cork, because these things attract them and aren't good for their systems. food, water, and a CLEAN litterbox should be available to them at all times. at least 3-4 hours outside the cage should be given to them, but rooms have to be ferret proof. that means no small things they could try to eat or places they could get stuck under. keep non-ferret proof things in drawers where they can't get them, and don't keep balls with holes in them for them to play with- their teeth could get caught in them. cords should be pretty high- not all ferrets do this, but my little baby girl chews on them a lot, and i had to get plastic tubing to put around the cords. remotes should be up high where they can't get them too- my oldest ferret chewed off a button and it took massive amounts of furball repellent before he pooped it out, or else he would've needed surgery. when choosing your ferret, look for the energetic ones, furry tails, and check for bumps on their skin- these could carry diseases. don't get the ferret with watery eyes, chipped teeth, or a lot of black ear wax. the ones shivering in a corner probably are just scared- shivering isn't usually something to worry about (i thought so, too, but i have a handbook that says it's normal). if you have any more questions, feel free to email me.

  4. Ferrets eat nuts (mmmmm... nuts)

  5. Hi There,

Please be sure this is the animal you want. They are very curious and high maintenance creatures. If you are younger be sure that you can support them/and or your parents. And please do not move on and forget that your pet has feelings too.Too many people do this get married, have kids , go to college and just expect that this ferret is going to be okay.

    They wont.

I have had ferrets for 25yrs plus and now currently own 1 and love her to bits.

Please see the links ive posted.

Please study hard , if still wanting 1 be aware that 2 plus they will get Adrenal problems and /or some form of cancers.

  7. Theres only one thing you need to know...Those little b******s bite, and it hurts.

  8. They're cute, affectionate, furry and playful but their illegal in California to own one.

  9. They will hide any gold or silver jewelry they find... & you will probably never see it again....my friend has one .... it's weird to see it going around the house with it's weasel-type neck....Personally I prefer a cat to a ferret, but I know some people want something different.

  13. Hi,

First of all ferrets are cute and sweet and fun and they do steal. LoL! They do NOT eat nuts, most nuts are bad for them. They also do not normaly bite. Anything with a mouth can bite. However it is not common for a ferret to bite. Third a hammock is almost a must for a ferret. That is what their bedding is hamocks, blankets, sleep sacks that kind of thing. The only reason their nails get caught is if they are not kept cliped. Their nails must be cliped every two to three weeks.

There is a book called "Ferrets for Dummies" first and second edition. I have both and most ferret owners i know have at least one copy. I suggest you get this book or check it out and read it carefully before you get a ferret. Also look at all the web sites others have given you. Ferrets are very high maitnence and can be expencive.

  15. Aside from being really cute, they can be a nuisance as a pet.  They're hard to train to not c**p all over the house, they smell, and they are prone to nuriological disorders.  Keep in mind you may have extensive vet bills if you get a ferrett.  My roomates of this last year had 4 ferrets, and only 1 of them is still alive, because they all got this weird disease that infected their nervous system.  It was really sad to watch.

  16. I don't know much but I found this site that should help you.

    Good luck!
