  2. You sit on the baby.

  3. Take another class.  The local red cross offers them.  You are asking way too many questions to start babysitting.  The red cross has a great program and will give you a certificate.

  4. SCARED- Well....it depends on what they are scared OF. I have a spray bottle with a label that I made that says Monster Go Away! Spray if they are afraid of monsters. If it's a storm, tell them in words they can understand what the thunder is, such as "Thunder happens when two biiiig rain clouds in the sky bump into each other. Isn't that cool?" and then try to distract them.

MONEY- I'm a new babysitter too. I charge three or four dollars an hour (one to two dollars less than to going rate, since I'm new. Usually depending on how long the parents will be gone and how many kids there are) and once I get more experience, I'll probably raise my price.

SAFETY- There are a lot of safety things. Make sure you are paying attention to the kid/kids at all times. Cut food really small so that they won't choke. Be familar with the Heilich Maneuver. Turn the handles on pots and pans backwords. Don't answer the door and be weary of the phone unless you know the number. Keep the doors locked and blinds shut. The list is pretty endless, but if you've taken the class, you should know. Besides, most of it is more common sense then anything else!

CPR- I can't help you with this one because I don't know it myself. The class I took told me that the second the child becomes unresponsive, call 911. Of course, I took mine at a local library, but still. Sorry, dude!

    I hope this helps!!!!!  :D

  5. The majority of these issues need to be discussed with baby/child's parents.

If they are scared, you comfort them.

You may also want to take into consideration that if something goes wrong, you might be scared, so i suggest you have someone that will be available to contact in an emergency. Preferably, the baby's parent/s.

How you deal with money is an agreement that needs to be made between you and the parents. Before you babysit, you should both be clear on the price and how the payment is going to be made. Some important things to consider are:

Are you going to ask for cash upfront or would you prefer a check ?

Are you going to charge them per hour or will there be a set price ?

Basic safety is all you need to know. By that, i mean how to hold the baby without causing any harm to it, how to feed it etc. . .

As for CPR techniques. I can see why you think it is important to know them, but i can assure you, that the majority of baby sitters do not, but if you do, it will be very beneficial, so perhaps you could take a St Johns Ambulance Course. Wouldn't it be cool to be able to write " Qualified in CPR " if you decide to advertise your business.

I do not know any specific websites, but you could try typing things into google.

Good luck and have fun !
