  1. It depends on the Chardonnay. It is a great wine (especially for white) But it is  great over Baked  Chicken and mushrooms) but if it is a good  Chardonnay  drink it

  2. i didnt think it really mattered. i keep wine for a longggg time, opened or not-- still tastes good to me :D

  3. With wine after about 4 or 5 days they start to turn sour.....If you would like to keep in fresh a bit longer get a wine pump....you put a special topper on it and extract all the air inside the bottle, thus helps make the wine last longer! You can buy these at grocery stores, liquor stores etc. Basically if you smell the wine and it is vinegary smelling/ or tasting then it is no good to drink or cook with! Hope I helped

  4. As others have said, don't worry about how long it's been in there, it depends on how well it was sealed, how cold the fridge, etc.  But if it's gone bad, it's only the flavor that's soured.  There's nothing about it that can hurt you.  In fact, if you let it go bad long enough, you can use it for vinegar.  so just taste it and be your own judge.

  5. it depends on a few things was it re corked and not let out to warm to room temp before putting back in frig  if so you good past the 3rd day to a full week up to two

past that it depends on these two question

how full was the bottle? fuller the better as you have less air in the bottle.

last depends on the type of wine and your Lucky here as Chardonnay is the driest of white wines so is more stable and can last up to a month in the frig

a cab due to the Tannins in it can be drinkable up to 4-6 months.

However the best rule is drinking a max of 2-3 weeks cooking  up to 2 months

yes cooking time are longer as the souring is not really a bad thing for cooking

and the rule of never cook with wine you would not drink is flawed as I only drink red wine and cook with white

  6. Any  wine  that  has  been  opened  and  refrigderated  can  lasts  6 mos  or  longer.  You  can  call  any  liquor  store  up  and  confirm  this.

  7. An open bottle would be good to drink or cook with up to 1 week.

  8. Unless it tastes funny it's fine - esp for cooking since you're burning off the alcohol in the first place - as for drinking - just sip it and if it tastes funny then dump it - keep the cork on tight as well...

  9. You should never cook with a wine unless you would drink it.  The rule of thumb for wine is 3 days opened but I think that is bogus.  Try it.  If it tastes good, use it.
