I need to know how to connect my stereo to my TV?

I have a Philips 1080i HD TV and a Sony stereo system and I want to know if there is a cord I can buy to hook up my tv so the sound can go through my speakers and sub woofer. The only ports I can find on the stereo is a video in port on the back and game input on the front, if anyone knows please help!

hook up a stero vcr to the tv, and run the sound trhough the vcr

You will need to use a red and white RCA cable. Just have it coming from the audio output in your TV, to the game input in your stereo. There can be anything plugged into that port, not just a game.

Your TV probably has a red and white output for stereo out. You would hook that into your sound system into the respective red/white inputs on the front of your stereo (if there aren't any on the rear). Just because it says game doesn't mean it has to be a game system. You could plug any sound source into it.
