If the VHS is not copyrighted....If you have a mini dv (cassette) camcorder….

If you have an analog (VHS) camcorder…

You need an analog converter, either internal card or external such as the dazzle. It's very easy to use and come with good software. You would hook your analog VHS camera to the analog converter, the dazzle and then hook the dazzle to your PC. The dazzle cost around 70.00 , but worth the money if you have a lot of VHS to tapes to convert.

Well is the vhs a movie that was purchased or one that you have taken yourself. If it is your own then buy a dvd vhs combo and make sure that the dvd part is a recordable one they run about $130 now and then just transfer button, I do it I no longer have any VHS movies or personal. then put dvd in pc and use a program called dvdfab or Imagemixer 3 and that will hook you up to edit. Also use DVD shrink 3.2 to transfer from dvd to pc
