  1. By the size you do not have wasps. Probably hornets or yellow jackets.

Spray the nest, but that will probably not do any good as the over the counter sprays do not kill the nest (even though they say they will on the can). If it is not in the way leave it alone, and they will leave this fall. When you see no activity, late fall or winter knock down the nest with a pole or trim the branch(s) off with the nest.

If you want it gone now, hire a pro.

  2. I just saw this on Paul James, Master Gardener on Gardening by the Yard on HGTV this weekend.  You can buy sprays that enable you to get a distance away and spray their nests.  That does often make them pretty wound up.  Or you can purchase globes that look exactly like the wasps nest hang them in the vicinity.  Evidently, wasps are territorial and don't like others nesting in their area.  Check out his website to see where you can purchase them.  Knowing this option, I'd try it before ticking off wasps and getting stung again.

  3. Buy a couple of cans of the best wasp and hornet killer money can buy.  Wait till the sun goes down, get a sturdy ladder and a friend to hold the latter, in case you have to come down real quick.  At the bottom of that nest there will be a hole about the size of a broom handle...put the spray can up to that hole and spray and don't let up ont he spray nozzle till all of the spray is gone (it might ge a good idea to wear gloves on your spraying hand for this job)  that ought to do it, but the next day check it out, watch for some stray wasps that maybe didn't make it home the night before, you can give them another squirt (this is why we buy 2 cans at a time) once the next has not action, you can hose it down or knock it down which ever is the easiest.

  4. get a bucket, something long enough to reach the nest like two

sticks, put some water, bleach, and tide in side enough that when the bucket reaches the nest it will be soaked up in the water, wait for the night when they are asleep, and it's dark, take the bucket and push it up around the nest and hold it there a while, and you drown them.. then you break off the nest and burn it so they dont get to it,don't go outside the next day..wait ..good luck

  5. Buy wasp and hornet killer. Not the cheap stuff. wait till dark and poke a hole in the nest with a long stick and spray the nest with both cans until the whole nest is soaked. In the morning use a garden hose with a strong spray to destroy the nest.

  6. very carefully

  7. Try smoking them out by putting a fire under the nest.

  8. Use a ladder to go up and spray it with wasp spray. The brighter choice though, would be to call and exterminator. I got stung by one once and it REALLY hurt. I was hard to get the stinger out too!

  9. Diesel soaked rags long and short of it is petroleum products kill wasp.If you can control access to the area and 150' surrounding area soak rags in diesel tie to pole or top rung of a ladder place within one foot of the nest opening 24 hrs from now all wasp hornets or yellow jackets should be dead.
