  1. hey Judy G, try using Head and Shoulders, is designed for use on skin and kills fleas fast and also repels them

  2. My mom always sprinkled garlic powder on our pets food.  Don't know if it really worked or if it's good for them but we never had fleas.

  3. Diatomaceous Earth works real good for getting rid of fleas. Diatomaceous Earth kills by physical action, not chemical, by puncturing the insect’s exoskeleton and absorbing the moisture in their bodies. So the insect dies of dehydration within 24 to 48 hours. There are three types of Diatomaceous Earth. The type I recommend is the Feed Grade Diatomaceous Earth (Fossil shell flour). It is very inexpensive and can be found in most feed stores. Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is the purest form of Diatomaceous Earth. Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is totally organic and safe. It can be used on household pets, gardens, flower beds, field crops, grain storage, and livestock feeding. Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is Mother Nature's product with no harm to the environment, pets or to people. Food Grade Diatomaceous Earth is safe for humans to eat and is used in storing wheat. You may already be eating a little in some of the foods you eat.

  4. I work at a grooming shop and we use Dawn dish soap. Be careful not to get it into there eyes and let it sit for 10 min. This works great! you can then use any shampoo of your choice! DO not use rubbing alcohol. Think of how it would feel on any open cuts or sores. OUCH!

  5. Go get a flea collar and a flee dip.  You could also wash the dog in rubbing alcohol.  That will drive the fleas off it and onto you.  Kill the fleas with the right product.

  6. If you need to get rid of fleas on an animal, try Dawn dish deturgent.  It's the blue kind.  Wash the pet with this only once every two weeks.  It really works.

  7. i'm just hoping to find some answers to this myself, but do NOT get a flee collar! thosre are really bad for animals and can kill them cause of the chemicals in them, and can cause cancer.

and if u wash them in dish detergent, do so carefully. i used baby shampoo on my kitten.

  8. Simple and inexpensive way to get rid of fleas, is to sprinkle Table Salt all over your carpets, sofa, chairs, bedding etc. Let it set a few hours and vacuum up. Salt dehydrates fleas & thier eggs killing them! Not harmful to your kids or pets and It Works!

  9. Well, you can as others mentioned bathe your pet in DAWN dishwashing liquid and leave it on for a few minutes... Rinse throughly.. Be careful of eyes/nose/ears....

Ohio State University-just published a study stating that simply vacuuming the carpet and other soft surfaces of your home EVERYDAY will take care of all adult fleas... For added measure put a couple cheapie flea collars in the bag/canister.... Empty bin outside or discard bag in the garage.  It doesn't matter what type of vacuum you have bag/bagless both do a through job!

For an added measure I sprinkled my carpet with a mixture of baking soda and iodized salt that I bought from the wholesale club.. I mixed them together and liberally sprinkled on my carpet... Left on overnight and vacuumed like MAD the next day!  The article said vacuum everyday for at least a month.... To stop the fleas from spreading...

Wash any bedding that you dog comes in contact with on a regular basic....

    Good luck

  10. a garlic supplement can repel fleas if you give it to your pet regularly.  You can google that.  If there are fleas in your house then you can buy stuff from walmart to lay on your carpet then vacuum up, it is powder and smells like peppermint.  GOOD LUCK.  Also a pesticide in your yard in Spring and late Fall, will help too.

  11. vacuum your floors and everything really good, and get borax laundry soap, sprinkle that on your carpet and couches (if you need to) and let it sit for about a day, then vacuum it up. It should kill the fleas. Make sure you keep the infected animal out of the house. For the animal try Dawn dish soap, but only if your animal is over 10 weeks old. Use a flea comb and the dish soap. It got rid of my fleas!

  12. Use Dawn dish detergent, the lemon works best.
