  1. It would help if you knew what you are spending it on now.

But, you probably don't have time to write down everything you spend for a month, do you?

Make a list of everything that you'd spend money on--put a star beside those that you have to buy--like, maybe school lunches, or bus fares.

Put the list in the order of importance--are clothes more important than CDs?

Decide how you'll spend your money--but be sure to leave a bit for "unexpected expenses"--you never know what may come up.

  2. Hmm, well what I do is set aside money for all my bills, then with the remaining cash, I set aside a little for a rainy day or a "just in case" fund, and the rest is yours!

  3. ask your teacher

  4. Depending on when the project is due, i would suggest this.

keep all receipts of EVERYTHING you buy--even if it's a pack of gum.

Then on one column list all of your 'MONEY SPENT'

You can break it down into categories as well... Example: Junk Food, clothes, music, etc.

Then on the other column list all of your MONEY EARNED.

Then you can use Excel to do the math for you and total these columns up for you. If you know how to set the excel program to formulate for you, each time you enter a new item, the math will automatically be calculated.

When you are all finished you can do grand totals for each column.

I have actually done this for my monthly budget.

    GOOD LUCK!!!!

  5. Check out expenseRegister.com - it is a free online personal budgeting tool.  You can setup a budget, record your expenses and compare your actual expenses with the budgeted ones.  There are other features too, but these are relevant to your project.  I also think it would be a good idea to use an internet service to present your project!

  6. Creating a budget generally requires three steps.

    Identify how much you make

Identify how you're spending money now

Evaluate your current spending and set goals that take into account your long-term financial objectives

Track your spending to make sure it stays within those guidelines.

Use software to save grief. I like a simple tracking sheet by excel.

If you don't know how to use excel, make a rough draft, and then use an online excel tutor and make your own.
