  1. Even though you have lived your whole life here you are still considered a legal resident alien (this is assuming you have a green card), therefore; you need a valid passport from Mexico. Just click on the link below and it has all the necessary phone numbers for Mexican Consulates.

My understanding is that you will have to travel to Mexico to get your Mexican passport.

You can contact the U.S. Embassy in regards to your situation at 1-877-487-2778.  Perhaps it's possible that all you have to do now is proved you have lived here your whole life (through work records, payment of bills, etc), take the test and become a U.S. citizen.

If that ends up being the case, then you can become a U.S. citizen and just get a U.S. passport.

I put the third link in because it is still possible to become a naturalized U.S. citizen if you meet certain criteria.  Read the third link to gain the information you need.

The second link shows the dates for when it is projected you will need a passport to go back and forth between any of the Western Hemisphere countries.

EDIT:  Charlie brings up a good point.  You didn't specify if your citizenship card is American or Mexican.  Nonetheless, the information I have given you is accurate.  The idea that you can't become a naturalized U.S. citizen is simply not true.

    3. How do I become a naturalized citizen?

If you are not a U.S. citizen by birth or did not acquire U.S. citizenship automatically after birth, you may still be eligible to become a citizen through  the  normal naturalization process. People who are 18 years and older use the "Application for Naturalization" (Form N-400) to become naturalized. Persons who acquired citizenship from parent(s) while under 18 years of age use the "Application for a Certificate of Citizenship" (Form N-600) to document their naturalization . Adopted children who acquired citizenship from parent(s) use the "Application for a Certificate of Citizenship on Behalf of an Adopted Child" (Form N-643) to document their naturalization. You may call the Forms Line at 1(800) 870-3676 to request Form N-400, N-600, or N-643.

EDIT:  Going to Mexico to get your passport now would be quicker.  If you're not in a big hurry, then see if you can become a naturalized citizen.

  2. If you are not an American citizen,  you will need to get a Mexicn passport. Is that citizenship card for the U.S., or for Mexico?  Makes  BIG difference.  If it is for the U.S. , you are an American citizen and can get a U.s. passport.  See 1st website below for all application info.   If that citizenship card is for Mexico, see list below for all Mexican consulates in the U.S.  Contact the nearest one and ask how to get your Mexiccan passport.  You need to KNOW what your status is in the U.S.   Are you a citizen or not?  Talk to your parents and find out what your status is..
