I need to know how to remove and replace,brake master cylinder for,1998 Range Rover 4.0 HSE, what tools to us?

I'm in situation now have to repair this myself. Can anyone help?

  1. R&R the brake master cyl is very easy to do,it's the rest that needs very careful attention,There are two brakelines coming out of the MC,Undo these very carefully(special spanner/wrench should be used)you should see four nuts that fix the MC to the servovac,undo these and the MC will come away in your hand,with luck you can find a "kit"for the MC which is a couple of rubber "buckets"springs as well depending on the model,avoiding the need to buy a "new"one,should be a circlip to hold all the insides together,be careful that everything does not fly out in your face and it has to be put back in the very same order and the "buckets in the same direction/sense that you dismantled it,I'm worried about this and I prefer that you do it step by step with me if you agree,you can mail me or IM whatever because if you get this wrong NO BRAKES MAN


  2. don't muck around with brakes.  if you don't know what you're doing get someone who does to help, or ride a pushbike.
