I need to know how to wind bobbins for Singer sewing machine AS16949.?

The bobbins are relativly flat, the top side is bigger than the bottom side.

  1. It looks like this machine is a model 648, one of 100,000 built in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and with the serial number allocated in April 1969.

  2. Hi,

    I think these are the wind-in-place bobbins. If I remember correctly, you just thread the top of the machine and run it, and it threads the bobbin. It's been awhile since I've seen one of these machines, so you may have to experiment a little. Hope this helps!
