I need to know if anyone makes a pedistal for a toilet to raise it to chair level?

I have replaced the tile in the bathroom except for the tile around the toilet. My wife wants a chair height toilet but there is nothing wrong with the one we have now and I hate to replace a good toilet and thought that a 2 or 3 inch pedistal would be perfect but I don't know if they exist. Does anyone know if this can be found?

  1. Get your wife the toilet that she wants. Let her pick it out. Show her that you appreciate her by taking her to home depot and letting her have her choice. Then, compliment her on her selection after it is installed. Don't hem and haw about how you could have just replaced the pedestal part. If you try to go the cheaper way out and it looks bad then you will never live it down.

    Pick your battles!

  2. the only thing i can think of is a riser meant for older or handicap people....made of plastic and fits on top of the toilet....but it will raise it like 8 inches....or just replace it with a handicap toilet to get the height

  3. Go to home depot they have what you are looking for.

  4. I don't know of any pedestals but they have raised toilet seats.

I've attached a picture of the nicest one I could find but I've see others that raise up the existing toilet seat. Google raised toilet seat.

  5. Don't be cheap !!!!!!!!

Buy her a new dunny of her choice.

Could be worth a few Brownie points.

  6. Well you have the previously mentioned options-raised toilet seat, pedestal, platform at base/raise flange, etc.

It may be worth it to replace the toilet to save time and money, especially considering future problems you may face with an irregular toilet seat or irregular pedestal (instability, ugliness).

Just have your wife pick out a nice toilet, ADA height.

  7. Well the cheapest way is to get a seat extention they sell them at med. supply stores. You just take the seat off and then s***w the extention on the same way.

Anyother way is to pull the toilet, build a raised platform around the flange, then have a plumber raise the flange. But your talking about big bucks.
