  1. Yes the reason why recycling reduce global warming is because the stuff goes to a landfill and it then it is set on fire so then it creates more carbon dioxide but if you recycle the stuff doesn't have to go to the landfill and can be used again.

  2. Global warming isn't real. Schools shouldn't be teaching that it is.

Recycling, however, can reduce our of resources that we consume.

  3. anything to do recycling helps reduce global worming.

  4. Recycling of high energy products like metals avoids use of energy to produce new.

Recycling of plant and animal materials to grow more food avoids the need to produce them using fossil fuels as energy.

Recycling paper allows us to use paper with abandon and still cut fewer trees. But the trees have already absorbed their CO2. No matter whether you recycle it or not, eventually that paper will decompose and return its CO2 (or methane) to the atmosphere. What recycling does is delay the time until it starts to decompose.

Recycling glass keeps glass out of the landfill. The energy to recycle is about the same as the energy to create new glass from sand. Crushing glass to use in blacktop pavement is a way to get rid of the glass without transporting it a long distance to be re-melted.

  5. Yes.  Even if you don't see the results, every little bit helps.  Recycling promotes less consumption of natural resources.  And that helps reduce global warming.

  6. Yes.  According to the epa here is why,

"Reduce emissions from energy consumption. Recycling saves energy. Manufacturing goods from recycled materials typically requires less energy than producing goods from virgin materials. When people reuse goods or when products are made with less material, less energy is needed to extract, transport, and process raw materials and to manufacture products. When energy demand decreases, fewer fossil fuels are burned and less carbon dioxide is emitted into the atmosphere.

Reduce emissions from incinerators. Recycling and waste prevention divert materials from incinerators and thus reduce greenhouse gas emissions from waste combustion.

Reduce methane emissions from landfills. Waste prevention and recycling (including composting) divert organic wastes from landfills, reducing the methane that would be released if these materials decomposed in a landfill.

Increase storage of carbon in forests. Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and store it in wood in a process called "carbon sequestration." Waste prevention and recycling paper products allows more trees to remain standing in the forest, where they can continue to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere."

P.S. I don't know when certain posters started speaking for, "Just about every credible scientist on the planet", but the national academies of science of  EVERY SINGLE G8 NATION AND INDIA AND CHINA AND THE USA has warned about the dangers of Global warming.  The national academies are made up of many of the top scientists from the nations.
