  1. "Can you say "Heinz 57?  Half-breed indicates one-half Native American and one-half European ancestry. The nearest equivalent would be the Spanish "Ladino" (Spanish 3/4 and Indian 1/4).

Below is a link to some politically incorrect multi-racial terms once in use, including those found in the 1920 US Census.  Just tell everyone that you're an American!

    ---

Note to Lupines1 -- Wikipedia claims that "Ladino" is derived from "Latin" and that usually the term "Ladino (people)" refers to the mestizo or Hispanic population in Guatemala.  The term shouldn't be confused with the Sephardi Jews, whose language is known as Ladino. Naturally, I'm not suggesting the use of the term for someone with a Northern European and Native American ancestry.

Actually, there's some precedence for using the term "American" to denote ancestry.  In the 2000 US Census, 7.2 percent of the population self-reported their ancestry as "American".

  2. no. you're american with british, scottish, german, indian and irish ancestry.

  3. No your just White.

  4. No.  You are not a "half breed."

That is a deragotory word used in bigoted times we no longer use that word in modern America. Yankee term is also outdated as I live in Mississippi and that word is also seldom used here the civil war time is gone past now in modern era.

Ladino does not mean Spanish 3/4 and Native Indian 1/4 the link above is incorrect.  Ladino is a Judeo-Spanish language used by some Spanish heritage Jewish people for centuries.  Perhaps the above responder and the link above actually meant Latino of which you are also not Latino which is separate than Native American Indian.

To find your true heritage you have to go back MANY generations and go by percentages as the tree gets larger with each parent having TWO parents that contributed to their genes.

If you don't want to do that then just consider yourself an American with British, Scottish, German and Indian ancestry like your parents already told you.

  5. The term "half breed" is a bit unkind way to describe a person who is 1/2 caucasian and 1/2 Native american.  In order to arrive at that.. one of your parents would be full blooded Native american.

So, no.. you do not seem to fit that terminology.
