  1. As far as I know, all the positions are tested. I could be wrong on that though. Trainmen are tested on math, communication skills, and mechanical aptitude. That's what I was tested on many years ago. And I just talked to a newly hired trainman, and he said it hasn't changed. But so what? Go ahead and apply. Better than spending your life wondering, "What if.....".

  2. accident victim.you maybe over qualified.

  3. You've nothing to lose by giving it a go.

There are plenty of competent, intelligent people out there that just do not do well on tests, for whatever reason.  This makes them afraid to take them and that holds a person back.

In that you are articulate enough to pose a question that makes sense, with proper spelling and punctuation to boot  (here English is usually slaughtered) speaks that you are in fact employable material.

Besides.  You make take to it like a duck to water, as some do.  In that case, the tests will be a piece of cake.

    Good luck...

  5. Not in the operating department.Maybe an office position such as a clerk. But anything to do with actual train operations will require tests.

  6. to work for a major railroad like this , no. understand the application lists are really long for people wanting to work at the railraod and they can be picky about who they hire. therefore they screen there applicants by various testing to weed out the less desirable applicants and give themselves the best chance to hire the best.
